About
Every Piece of Software Begins with an Idea
Most software starts with features. OptionLogic started with questions.
Not: "What features should we build?"
But: "What problems are traders trying to solve?"
That simple question became the foundation of everything that followed.
Why I Built OptionLogic
When I began trading options, I discovered something that surprised me. The option chain contained an incredible amount of information but very little understanding. Every trading decision required mentally connecting dozens of numbers, calculations, and relationships before I could determine what they actually meant. As both a trader and a systems analyst, I found myself asking a different question.
Why should traders have to do all of this mentally?
Rather than building software around option contracts, I began building software around the questions traders naturally ask before, during, and after every trade.
Questions like:
- Is this opportunity worth the capital?
- What happens if I'm assigned?
- How has my position changed?
- Which covered call creates the best outcome?
- What recovery opportunities still exist?
Those questions eventually became OptionLogic.
Built From Experience
OptionLogic wasn't created in a boardroom. It wasn't designed by marketing surveys. And it wasn't built by trying to copy other trading platforms. It evolved from solving real problems I encountered while actively trading options.
Every major feature exists because it answered a question or solved a challenge that I personally experienced during the trading journey.
From comparing Return on Investment...
To managing assigned positions...
To evaluating recovery opportunities...
Each feature was developed because the problem existed long before the software did.
More Than Software
My background is in Systems Analysis.
For more than 25 years, my career has centered on understanding how complex processes work and designing systems that make better decisions possible. That same approach became the foundation of OptionLogic.
Rather than adding features for the sake of adding features, every calculation was designed to answer a specific question that traders face. The result is software built around relationships not isolated numbers.
Because in options trading, understanding how information connects is often more valuable than the information itself.
Our Mission
"OptionLogic exists to bridge the gap between raw option chain data and informed trading decisions."
The software transforms raw option chain data into meaningful trading information using objective calculations.
It does not predict the market.
It does not tell you what to trade.
It organizes the information needed to help you evaluate opportunities, manage positions, and understand potential outcomes with greater clarity.
The calculations provide context. The trader provides the judgment.
Our Philosophy
Every trader has different objectives.
Different experience.
Different risk tolerance.
Different capital.
For that reason, OptionLogic avoids telling traders what they should do. Instead, it focuses on providing transparent calculations that allow every trader to make informed decisions based on their own objectives. Because successful trading isn't about following someone else's opinion.
It's about understanding your own position.
Looking Forward
OptionLogic continues to evolve for one reason.
Trading evolves.
New challenges appear.
New questions emerge.
Every improvement begins the same way it always has:
What problem are traders trying to solve?
That question will continue guiding every future update.
Whether you're new to options or have years of experience managing positions, thank you for taking the time to learn about OptionLogic. I hope the software helps organize the information behind your decisions, reduce unnecessary complexity, and support your own approach to income-focused options trading.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
